We have all been witnessing the major ramp-up in lumen per watt outputs in the past years. Of course the more lumen per watt are created, the less energy will transfer in to heat.Still many people are not aware that even with this major evolutions, the current efficiencies of LED COB and modules are still in the range of 30% to 35% , means that still 65% to 70% of the energy goes to heat.
As an extension to the success of the ModuLED modular LED coolers, MechaTronix developed a new era of passive LED cooling in a diameter of 47 millimeter, named the ModuLED Pico.
The choice for a diameter of 47mm speaks for itself. With this diameter the new LED spot or down light can easily fit in any existing lighting fixture with classic MR16 or GU10 lamps.
As an extension to the success of the ModuLED modular LED coolers, MechaTronix developed a new family of passive LED heat sinks in a diameter of 70 millimeter, named the ModuLED Nano.
Full range LED coolers for Luxeon COB now available
With the launch of the newest generation Philips Lumileds Luxeon Chip-On-Board (COB) LED modules there was an immediate need for a wide range of standard LED coolers.
In the cooperation with MechaTronix Philips Lumileds found a practical and easy way to launch a wide range of standard LED coolers fitting mechanically with the various dimensions of the Luxeon COBs and matching the cooling capacities needed for the whole series.
