Citizen CITILED LED Cooling
Citizen, with its headquarter in Kamikurechi Japan, has been a MechaTronix eco-partner from the first hour. With one of the broadest ranges of COB LED engines they lead the market with respect to lumens per watt in combination with quality of light. While Citizen over the last years kept on developing higher efficient COB LED modules, also the power density increased exponentially. MechaTronix as an official Citizen eco-partner has been keen on making standard LED coolers readily available for all their COB models.
We distinguish the Citizen COB led engines and the related LED heat sinks into two classifications, these related to development of spot light, down light and track light luminaires, and these related to the high power industrial field like high bay lighting and outdoor waterproof luminaires.
For the Citizen CITILED high intensity COB both Vivid series and Vivid color series as well as the latest series standard COB models we recommend to use our CoolStar® designer star shaped led coolers.

When we look at high bay lighting, Citizen is by far the market leader in providing COB led engines for these. With their excellent lumen per watt performance in combination with a wide scale of color temperatures, a strict binning and the availability of high CRI versions, each lighting designer finds in the Citizen range what he will need for his next high bay luminaire. Also their strong eco program is a big surplus in these – all the necessary heat sinks and lenses for the Citizen COBs can be found off-the-shelf available.

For outdoor illumination like high mast applications, stadium lights and sports lighting the Citizen CITILED COBs are by far the most popular LED COB engines on the market. With 21.000 lumen from a single 38x38mm standard COB at nominal drive current, Citizen leads the market of high efficiency high power COBs. Seen the high power density and high overall power, classic aluminum heat sinks become too slow to dissipate the power into the LED cooler. Therefore MechaTronix developed a patented range of full passive LED coolers consisting of high end heat pipes with stack fins. In this way unique high end LED coolers are created which can cool down up to 4 high power COBs simultaneous, all passive, no life time components incorporated! Here below you see two example of our CoolFin® and CoolCube® equipped with 4 high power Citizen COBs model CLU058 creating 80.000 lumen.
